Lady Mules facing hard times this season

In a season that has been a tough one to swallow for the Lady Mules softball team, things didn’t get a whole lot better over the past two weeks.

Interspersed amongst the relentless periods of rain, the Lady Mules fell victim to defeat a total of seven times dating back to April 18, including a trio of double-headers. In the most recent action, the Lady Mules played host to the Timberwolves of Morton-White Pass last Friday evening. Despite MWP’s slow starts in both games, the Lady Mules ended up dropping the opener 15-0 and the nightcap 16-0. On April 21, the team travelled to Adna to take on the Pirates in another league matchup, but was sent home after dropping both games of the double-header 28-0 and 15-0, respectively. A day earlier, the Lady Mules crossed the Columbia for a non-league matchup with the Knappa Loggers. Despite leaving Knappa with a loss, the team managed to get into the scoring column as they fell by a score of 15-3. Candice Hoven accounted for two of the three runs while Haylee Budd tallied the third. On April 18, the Lady Mules made the trip to take on the Wildcats of Ocosta in another double-header. Rachel Patching and Shanna Havens each crossed the plate once for the Lady Mules’ two runs in game one, a 13-2 defeat, while Hoven and Budd each scored once and Patching twice in game two, falling to the Wildcats 17-4.
