Building materials store has new wholesaler

February 2, 2012

After 17 years as an Ace Hardware franchise, Cathlamet Building Materials owner Jim Wilson has decided to change wholesalers and is now working with Orgill.

Over the next few weeks, Wilson said Monday, the transition will be completed, with $30,000 of new inventory already delivered.

Ace products will continue to be sold while supplies last, but the new selection will showcase nationally branded products, such as Sylvania Light Bulbs and Valspar paint.

Wilson hopes this new relationship will help provide his customers with more choice and better value.

Originally a TruValue Hardware franchise it wasn’t until the 1970’s, when the Feiring family became owners, that the business was renamed Cathlamet Building Materials.

Wilson said Orgill appears to be the new dominant wholesaler within the region as neighboring hardware stores in Kelso and Winlock have also recently changed suppliers.
