English Tea to be held April 20
April 4, 2013
St. James Family Center in Cathlamet will host their 5th Annual English Tea on April 20 with a royal theme, marking the 60th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth, which took place on June 3, 1953.
Featured will be traditional recipes, each with a royal connection, served on fine china and linen with fresh flowers.
Tickets are $12 each with seatings at noon and 2 p.m. Reservations are strongly recommended and may be made by calling 360-795-8612.
There will also be a silent auction featuring donated items, including a hand made real vintage fur teddy bear created by local artist Pat Talbott, along with several tea baskets, some collectibles and tea service by local potter, Ruth Doumit.
A spring plant sale will again be held at the same time with a wide array of indoor and outdoor plants. A master gardener will be available to answer questions.
On display will be the special 10-ft. Devlin design row boat made by Welcome Slough Boatworks, which is being raffled off as a fundraiser for the family center and Wahkiakum Historical Society.
All proceeds from the tea and plant sale go directly to St. James Family Center.
