Sheriff's Report, May 7, 2015

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

April26--1:39 a.m. A Puget Island woman reported three people were near her goat pens and ran off when she appeared. She had been robbed before and believes she is being harassed. She was advised to document all contacts with intruders. 9:47 a.m. A Fern Hill resident reported finding an open window in the house, a sign of a possible intruder. 4:45 p.m. A motorist reported a possible drunken driver between Cathlamet and Skamokawa had almost ran the caller off the road. An officer stopped the suspected driver. 9:18 p.m. An officer cited a driver on SR 4 near County Line Park for excessive speed and violation of an instruction permit.

April 27--12:44 p.m. An officer stopped a vehicle on SR 4 east of Cathlamet and arrested the driver for driving while his license was suspended. 1:32 p.m. Officers were asked to assist on a response to a report that a person was threatening suicide; no one was at the residence; an officer later made contact, and the subject agreed to contact mental health professionals in the morning. 2:26 A Puget Island resident reported two problems with dogs belonging to other people. 8:03 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle was speeding back and forth around Island View Lane; and officer made contact.

April 28--1:11 p.m. A Middle Valley resident reported a neighbor's horses were in his field for the fourth time. 9:21 p.m. An officer issued a citation to a driver who had been stopped on SR 4 east of Cathlamet and couldn't provide proof of insurance.

April 29--8:04 a.m. A Deep River resident reported an open door and possible burglary at a residence whose owner was out of town; an officer investigated. 10:57 a.m. A caller reported having heard strange noise during the night from an empty house on Cemetery Road; a deputy made contact. 12:54 p.m. A caller reported a possible theft of power at a Westend address; an officer investigated. 4:36 p.m. An Elochoman resident reported a possible theft of jewelry.

April 30--6:05 a.m. A caller reported that the ferry Oscar B. was out of service. 7:23 a.m. A motorist reported an eastbound log truck had overturned just east of Cathlamet; the driver wasn't injured. 9:06 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a person with heart trouble. 12:58 a.m. A Cathlamet water system customer reported having no water; town public works was advised. 1:42 p.m. An officer responded to Wahkiakum High School to assist with a juvenile who was out of control.

May 1--4:39 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man who was very ill. 7:49 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a man in a camper was preparing to camp overnight in a public fishing parking area; an officer investigated and determined the report was unfounded.

May 2--12:11 a.m. A caller at County Line Park reported adults were causing problems and refusing to leave when directed to do so; a state patrolman in the area responded. 11:02 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that a neighbor fired a shotgun, and pellets struck an outbuilding near where a person was standing; an officer contacted the parties. 11:52 a.m. An Alder Drive resident reported a dog came onto their property and attacked their dog, and this has happened before.
