Sheriff's Report, July 30, 2015

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

July 20 — 10:21 a.m. A Cathlamet resident complained about a car that had been parked in front of his house for a couple days. 10:25 a.m. A caller reported that an inflatable kayak had washed up on a Puget Island beach. 3:07 p.m. A caller complained about an erratic driver heading west on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 3:38 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a man who was having seizures. 5:03 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that several items were stolen from his boat. 5:28 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to a Rosedale address after someone reported a strong smell of burning rubber. A fire was extinguished and the resident was advised of the burn ban. 5:39 p.m. A motorist complained that a truck traveling on SR 4 was spilling its load and not allowing other drivers to pass. State patrol responded. 7:29 p.m. A caller reported that a juvenile was shooting at birds at a Cathlamet cemetery.


July 21 — 12:18 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported that her child had been sexually assaulted. 4:06 p.m. A Cathlamet business reported that a juvenile had been shoplifting. 8:11 p.m. An employee at a Rosburg business complained about a man sitting outside smoking used cigarette butts and acting strangely. 9:25 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after a vehicle stop in Cathlamet. 10:59 p.m. An employee at a Skamokawa business reported that a co-worker was receiving threatening phone calls.


July 22 — 10:14 a.m. A caller reported a possible burglary in the Skamokawa area when he found his vacationing neighbor’s shop open. 11:28 a.m. A deputy was requested for a civil standby while an individual removed his personal belongings from a former residence. 1:23 p.m. An erratic driver was reported heading westbound on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 6:36 p.m. A caller reported seeing a nude woman running around screaming for help in the Elochoman Valley. The caller said that there had been a lot of suspicious activity in the area recently. The Cathlamet ambulance and a mental health professional responded. 10:04 p.m. An individual threatening suicide jumped out of a vehicle on the Puget Island bridge. The mental health department was notified. 10:15 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who was disoriented. 10:35 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a individual with possible alcohol poisoning and mental health issues.


July 23 — 12:42 a.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded to the report of a brush fire near Norse Hall on Puget Island. 8:59 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that five bicycles had been stolen from his yard sometime in the last week. 10:24 a.m. A rape was reported in Cathlamet. 11:09 a.m. A caller complained about a disabled vehicle on a Cathlamet street. 12:08 p.m. A caller reported a dead deer in the west bound lane of SR 4 near County Line Park. 12:34 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with high blood pressure to the hospital. 12:42 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that an unwelcome person was trespassing on her property. 1:20 p.m. A motorist reported hitting a deer on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area. The deer was injured. 4:48 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that she had received a harassing phone call. 6:12 p.m. A caller reported a sulfur smell in the Rosedale area. 6:35 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that two juveniles had come to the back of his home and knocked things off of his porch. 7:31 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR 4 in the Flandersville area. 10:16 p.m. An alarm was activated for the Western Wahkiakum Water System. The PUD was notified. 11:56 p.m. Deputies, state patrol, the Cathlamet ambulance, the District 4 Fire Department and the Grays River Fire Department responded to the report of a one vehicle accident at the top of KM. The vehicle was upside down, leaking gas, and there was an individual in the ditch.


July 24 — 11:21 a.m. A caller reported the theft of gas and damage to a vehicle at an Elochoman Valley address. 2:18 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with a back injury. 3:31 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading east on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 4:33 p.m. A warrant was served at an Elochoman Valley address. 4:45 p.m. A caller reported seeing an individual illegally dump garbage into a dumpster. 5:10 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained that a man scared her donkey by swinging a fishing pole. 6:08 p.m. A Puget island resident reported that an individual had violated a restraining order. 10:01 A caller reported an erratic driver heading westbound on SR 4. The vehicle was stopped.


July 25 — 12:52 a.m. A one vehicle accident was reported on KM. No injuries were reported. 11:56 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with stomach pain. 12:46 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a woman with pregnancy complications in Deep River. 2:52 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported receiving a fraudulent email. 5:38 p.m. A caller reported an individual drinking and yelling from his parked vehicle at the boat launch in Deep River.

July 26 — 12:04 a.m. A caller reported hearing loud booming sounds in the Grays River area. 1:58 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported two unknown men looking at a boat and a car on his neighbor’s property. The neighbor was not home and the caller thought he had scared off the men. 5:26 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an elderly Rosedale resident who was having chest pain. 5:44 p.m. A caller reported a person staying behind the cabins at the marina. 8:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual who had injured herself after falling in the water at the marina. 8:59 p.m. A caller reported a leak at a water meter in Cathlamet. The Town of Cathlamet was notified, and the leak was fixed.

July 27 — 3:51 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Cathlamet residence. The homeowner was out of town, but a deputy checked it out and said everything appeared to be fine. 11:12 a.m. A Deep River resident complained that a pit bull had chased her young child. 11:35 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had no feeling on one side. LifeFlight was activated. 4:13 p.m. A caller reported that someone had stolen three ladders and ripped wires out of fuse boxes at a vacant house in Cathlamet. 4:39 p.m. A caller reported a man who was drinking and fishing in the Elochoman Valley area. The caller was concerned that the man, who had two children with him, was too intoxicated to drive home. 5:22 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR 4 near County Line Park. 6:56 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone had broken her stereo and gone through her things. 9:06 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Elochoman Valley woman.
