L-r, Tyler St. Onge, Kaleo Silva, Bryce Good and Gage Horman attended Skyline Golf Clinics this summer. Also attending but not pictured were Elijah Doiron, Nick St. Onge, and Eric and Ian Wuesterfeld.

The Skyline Golf Clinic started the week after school ended and lasted until August 4th, running Mondays through Thursdays from 9-12. The clinic had eight participants this year and culminated with four players competing at the Mint Valley Jr. Golf Championship. Three of the four boys placed by winning on the last day.

First year player Tyler St. Onge, an eighth grader, won a first place trophy by closing out his match 7 up with 6 holes to play in the 13-17 year old 4th flight.

Kaleo Silva, a seventh grader playing in his first golf tournament, bounced back from a heart breaking sudden death loss on the second hole of the day three semi-finals to beat two players simultaneously and finish third in the 12-under par 3, 4th flight championship.

Wahkiakum Mule sophomore Bryce Good, competing with the more seasoned players in the 13-17 year old 2nd flight, won in dramatic fashion. Down one stroke with one hole to play, Bryce won the 18th hole and then a sudden death pitch off to secure the third place medal.

Gage Horman, an 8th grader, finished fourth in the 13-17 year old 4th flight, losing 4 and 2.

A special thanks to Skyline Golf Course's owners Juanita Rodahl, Randy Rodahl, and Kim Herron for providing range and course time for the kids to practice.

Go Mules!
