Sheriff's Report, March 3, 2016

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 22 — 11:38 a.m. A few calls came in about a woman who had asked for needles at the pharmacy and was later seen attempting to flag down traffic on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area. 12:32 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after an assault was reported at a Cathlamet home. 3:55 p.m. A Cathlamet landlord reported that an evicted renter was threatening to sue because he had to cut down her bed frame in order to remove it from the apartment when she did not retrieve her property in the time she had been allotted. The landlord was advised that it was a civil matter. 5:21 p.m. A caller in Cathlamet complained about a stray dog that had been attempting to mount his dog for the last two and a half hours. 6:48 p.m. A welfare check was requested for an Elochoman Valley resident. A deputy made contact with the individual.

February 23 — 9:47 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who was feeling sick and weak. 10:07 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that a car had parked across the street and two people had gone into the barn. Washington State Patrol and deputies responded and spoke with the pair who, as it turned out, had not gone into the barn; they were enjoying the nice weather with a walk up a nearby logging road. 1:24 p.m. A caller reported a tree down on a Deep River road. The county road crew was notified. 1:41 p.m. A Rosedale resident called when an ex-girlfriend showed up at his home and started throwing things. 3:33 p.m. A panic alarm was accidentally activated at an Elochoman Valley home. 4:04 p.m. A caller requested assistance in unlocking a vehicle in Cathlamet. 5:01 p.m. A caller reported a theft at a church in Deep River. 5:56 p.m. A death was reported at a Rosburg home. 8:35 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained that someone was setting off fireworks and firing high power guns nearby. 10:25 p.m. A caller reported a deceased deer on SR 4 in the Grays River area. 10:48 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was bleeding and dizzy.

February 24 — 8:14 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded when a medical pendant alarm was activated at a Deep River home. 10:17 a.m. Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the Rosedale area. 2:30 p.m. A caller reported that a driver had struck a neighboring vehicle three times while parallel parking. According to the caller, the driver did not acknowledge striking the vehicle before going into a Cathlamet business. 3:33 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that she had been receiving harassing phone calls and texts. 7:34 p.m. A caller reported seeing a man strike his wife while they argued outside their Rosedale home.

February 25 — 3:52 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with heart problems. 11:37 a.m. A caller reported that a boy had asked her pre-teen daughter to send nude pictures of herself to him by phone. 12:22 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver in the Rosedale area. 12:42 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet school to aid a student who was having an asthma attack. 2:02 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was in severe pain. 4:16 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had lost consciousness. 5:12 p.m. A Cathlamet resident complained that her name was being used in fraudulent activity. 10:49 p.m. A caller asked if a deputy could make sure his office door was locked. A deputy checked and found the door secured.

February 26 — 6:23 a.m. A caller reported seeing a man lying in a ditch along SR 4 in the Alger Creek area. The Cathlamet ambulance responded. 10:34 a.m. Deputies responded to the report of a domestic disturbance at a Rosedale home. 10:50 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having an asthma attack. 11:14 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained that the locks on her doors had been changed. 12:23 p.m. A Rosburg resident said a neighbor had nearly run him off the road. The caller asked if a deputy might speak to the man and admitted that he was afraid that the man might murder him. 2:10 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that she had been threatened by her roommate. 2:52 p.m. A Rosedale resident complained that someone had driven through his yard and caused damage. 4:35 p.m. A caller requested assistance when he was locked out of his vehicle. 7:28 p.m. A caller complained about a vehicle blocking a lane on a Puget Island road for several hours. 7:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet baby with breathing problems.

February 27 — 8:12 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that she had been scammed. 9:09 a.m. A caller reported that a “tweeker” was taking logs out of the Elochoman River. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife was contacted. 9:17 a.m. A caller reported that some sheep were loose in the Elochoman Valley. 10:18 a.m. A caller reported that an individual was on his father’s Deep River property and would not leave until his father arrived. The caller was afraid to ask the man to leave. A deputy responded and instructed the man to leave. 10:42 a.m. A Puget Island resident requested a no contact order after being threatened by an individual. The individual had shown the caller that he was carrying knives. 8:06 p.m. A caller requested assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle on Puget Island. 10:02 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was having chest pains.

February 28 — 7:04 a.m. An unoccupied car was found in a ditch along SR 4 just west of Skamokawa. 8:45 a.m. An individual requested that a deputy dust for fingerprints at a place on KM.

February 29 — 1:49 a.m. The Grays River Fire Department and the Skamokawa ambulance aided a Skamokawa resident who was breathing but unresponsive. Lifeflight was en route.
