Volleyball camp set
The 2008 Mule volleyball camp will be held July 28-30 in the high school gym.
The elementary camp for grades 2, 3 and 4 will be from 10-11:30 a.m. and costs $40.
The middle school camp for grades 5, 6 and 7 is from 1-3 p.m. for $50, and the high school camp for grades 8 through 12 runs from 4-7p.m. and costs $ 60. All prices include a t-shirt.

Two Mule athletes won events at the Chehalis Activators Track and Field Classic, a two-day meet held April 18 and 19 and more results from the event.

Wahkiakum Mule track and field athletes earned medals at the season opening Rainier Ice Breaker Track meet last Saturday. Eighteen teams, including several Class 2A schools, competed.

Both Naselle Comet boys and girls basketball teams were eliminated from the Southwest 2B District basketball tournaments last week.

Lady Mules get new life in district
The Wahkiakum Lady Mules basketball team lost its first two games in the Class 2B district tournament but received new life when one of their opponents was disqualified this week.

Last weekend, four Wahkiakum Mule wrestlers competed in the 20th Annual State Mat Classic.
The four wrestlers competed well, reaching the semifinals before being knocked out of medal contention.

The Wahkiakum Girls JV basketball team recently completed their season. Despite starting the season with five losses in the first seven games, they finished the season strong, winning seven of nine for a final record of nine wins and seven losses.

The Wahkiakum Mule wrestling team competed this past weekend at the Castle Rock Invitational with seventeen schools and nearly 200 wrestlers. The Mules finished in 12th place and earned four medals.

In the battle of pressing defenses, the Toutle Lake Ducks were able to handle the pressure and handed the Wahkiakum Mules a 52-40 defeat last Friday at Wahkiakum High School.

It is hard to believe, but baseball season is almost here.
In 2007, Wahkiakum Youth Baseball merged with Central Youth Baseball in Longview. Overall, the merger has proven positive with the details between the Wahkiakum organization and Central organization being worked out for the 2008 season.
