State's new junior teen has Cathlamet roots

The new Washington State “Miss Washington Junior Teen” was crowned in Everett on April 17. She is Alexandra Lawrence of Olympia. Alexandra is the daughter of Cathlamet native Mike Lawrence and his wife, Carin, and the granddaughter of Cathlamet resident Lorraine Lawrence. She is a freshman at Olympia High School.
The 2011 Washington All American Girl Pageant was held April 15th thru the 17th in Everett.
Thirty-nine girls from around the state competed for eight divisional overall titles. Divisional Titles are divided by age groups ranging up to 19 years of age. The focus of this pageant is on natural beauty, poise, personality and public speaking. The girls are judged on interviews, stage presence, grooming, personal appearance and entertainment. The girls were also judged in categories for casual wear, party wear and formal wear.
Alexandra will now participate and entertain at many fairs, fall festivals, parties and other charitable and community events throughout the state.
In August Alexandra will represent the State of Washington at the 2011 All American Girl National Finals which will be held in Portland.
