The graduation class of 2015 is in the process of raising money for their senior class. This is an ongoing project from the time they enter high school and each class does this. An upcoming fundraiser will benefit this class. The event will take place on January 4th in the high school commons beginning at 5 p.m. On the menu will be chicken adobo, rice, pansit (noodles) and lumpia (Philippine egg rolls). Come on in and help out a great class, while you enjoy a delicious meal.
Don’t forget Free Friday night movies at the Grays River Valley Center every week at 7:00 p.m. This month has been a Tolkien in December celebration with "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" (last Friday) and coming up the final movie of the trilogy, "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King." We are showing the extended versions of each of these excellent movies so they are a little longer than usual, but well worth it. We have experienced quite a good turnout for each of the showings, and everyone seems to be enjoying them.

Especially during this busy time of the year, I would like to say thank you and thank God for you and your selflessness, to our Rosburg/Grays River EMS crews. It is such a comfort to know you can call 911 and get a response quickly. Last week we had to do just that—call 911. My husband experienced a post stroke related seizure and we decided that he needed a trip to Columbia Memorial for a check up. It was just a few minutes from the time we called before our neighbor, Steve Puddicomb showed up, and right behind him was Mary Steller. Thank you so much for all you do, (and to all the other EMS folks as well), we certainly appreciate you.
There didn’t seem to be any adverse effects after the seizure and all his tests came back ok, so hopefully that will be the last of that. Believe me, if you haven’t seen someone having a seizure, it is really scary.
When we got home at about 10:15 p.m. we were delighted to walk into the house with our beautiful Christmas tree all decorated and the house smelling like a fresh forest. Thank you, Carl and Dion.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year with the hope that this year will be the very best yet, for all of you.
