The free Friday night movie last week was delightful, a true story about an orphaned baby chimpanzee and his adventures. This week’s movie is another recently run movie and is rated PG-13, about a young boy who learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. The hero in him must emerge, however, if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.
Won’t you join us at 7 p.m. on Friday, for another great movie with concessions available? Our big screen is located in the cafeteria of the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park (the North entrance) with plenty of parking and a family friendly atmosphere.

We have been enjoying a week long visit with my sister from California and her friend. We have had some wonderful “girl time” with lots of laughter and memories. Sharon brought a box of old photos that had belonged to our Mom, so you know that meant several hours of pouring over them and trying to figure out just who, when and where. Such a good time, and I’m sorry to have them go.
As an added bonus last weekend, our son, Don and daughter in law, Natalie showed up for an early Father’s Day visit. We barbequed, sat around the fire pit and made S’mores on Saturday night, and had an absolutely wonderful time, with the weather cooperating also.
