Rosburg mainstay will celebrate 80th birthday

Here’s hoping the weather man is right with his predictions for some warm and sunny weather this week. I see Nancy George is out rototilling her garden spot, so that’s a good sign. I’m hoping to get the lawn mowed, or I may need some goats to come and graze it for me.

Anniversary 75 coming soon

I’m finishing up this article as I sit in yet another hospital room with my husband. We ended up back in the emergency room on Saturday night and after many more tests, up and down blood pressure, and a few other issues, I think we are headed uphill once again. Hopefully he will be back home again in a day or two. Thanks everyone for your good thoughts, prayers, support and friendship. We will overcome.

Busy week for Fredrickson family

Oh, the sounds of family, the laughter of grandchildren, the extra commotion, cooking and chaos. What a great week we are looking forward to. We were hoping for better weather, but will make do, just being together.

Head to crab feed Saturday in Rosburg

I picked my first bouquet of daffodils yesterday afternoon, so that must be a good sign of things to come, right? I see lots of baby sheep and calves being nurtured by their mothers in the fields along the highway and county roads. Spring must be almost here, new beginnings, new life and hopefully good things ahead for all of us.

Writer sends Valentine’s Day wishes

Happy Valentine’s Day to all the Eagle readers and staff. I feel very blessed this day for the love of family and friends. These past few months have not been the most wonderful of my life but things are certainly looking up. Thank you, everyone, for all your good thoughts, deeds, prayers and encouragement after my husband’s stroke.

Signs of spring are appearing now

Sitting in the hot tub in the evenings this past week, I have been hearing the frogs singing. A few eagles are perched in the trees overlooking the Grays River, looking for fish. Robins are congregating on the lawn in the mornings, daffodil plants are poking up through the soil and the skunk cabbage is also showing signs of life.
