A very delightful crowd filled the Skamokawa Grange last Saturday night as the Wahkiakum County Fair Board members and volunteers served a very nice dinner to over 100 guests.

We had one day of sunshine and the grass started growing at the Fairgrounds. Thanks to Larry Hendrickson and Dean Seaberg the grass will be mowed, as they brought our equipment back last week.

Wow! Twenty people filled out applications for 12 positions on the Wahkiakum County fair board! I think our county commissioners had some tough decisions to make selecting board members.

The Washington State Department of Agriculture grant papers for our new bleachers have been signed by all the appropriate people and Mr. Chuck Beyer told me I can order the bleachers!

It’s cold and snowing, yet wintertime projects at the fairgrounds continue to be planned and completed. One of our continuing projects has been to try to make all of our buildings wheelchair accessible.

This week I will fill out the paperwork to apply for state funding for the Wahkiakum County Fair. Let’s all send positive thoughts towards Olympia as Washington State budgets are getting close to being finalized.
