CALL FOR BIDS

FERRY "WAHKIAKUM" ENGINE REBUILD
WAHKIAKUM COUNTY, WASHINGTON

NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN, that sealed bids will be received by the Board of County Commissioners of Wahkiakum County, Washington, at the Department of Public Works Office, 3rd Floor, Wahkiakum County Courthouse, P.O. Box 97, Cathlamet, Washington 98612, until 10:00 A.M. local time the 9th day of February, 2010. At 10:30 A.M., such sealed bids will be opened and publicly read in the Commissioner Meeting Room for the removal, repair, and rebuild of one (1) N855M Cummins diesel engine for the Ferry "Wahkiakum." Bid is to include the installation of owner supplied spare engine at the time of current engine removal, which is planned for February 15th and 16th, 2010 at the Westport Ferry Landing.

The specifications for the engine rebuild are as follows:

        Successful bidder must give Wahkiakum Coun-
        ty a minimum guarantee of (1) one year parts
        and (6) six months labor on the rebuilt engine
        after installation.
    ·    Engine repairs must be made by a Cummins
        N.O.W. certified mechanic.
    ·    All parts replaced must be genuine Cummins
        Parts.
    ·    Rebuilt engine must be dynamometer tested
        for a minimum of 2 hours, to verify rebuild is
        within performance parameters, prior to delivery.

Bid prices are to include pick-up at the ferry of the old engine and delivery of the re-built engine to Wahkiakum County Road Shop, 73 Elochoman Valley Rd., Cathlamet, Washington, 98612, by June 30, 2010.

Wahkiakum County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities in the bidding and to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder.
