No. 14-27

INVITATION FOR HOURLY RATE QUOTES - ROAD REPAIRING EQUIPMENT AND

OPERATORS

The Town of Cathlamet, WA (Town) invites qualified entities to submit hourly rate quotes to perform a logging road remediation project consisting of two Parts: (A) brush and sapling removal from the roadway surface, and (B) repair of the roadway, and its culverts and drains. This solicits quotes for hourly rates charged for equipment and personnel to perform Part B of the Remediation Project. Work will start after Part A is completed. The road is located partly on private land owned by Weyerhaeuser Corp., and connects a public highway (SR 4) with the Town’s landlocked timber land. The Town is obligated to remediate the logging road as a condition of access to its harvestable timber. The road is partly on the Town-owned timberland, which is also part of the remediation project.

Quote requirements: Quotes are to be submitted for Part B only. All quotes must be in writing, submitted in triplicate, and bear original signatures of owners or officers authorized to bind the bidders. Quotes must list each type of equipment and specify the hourly rate to be charged for the equipment and operator, rate to include transport to and from work site.

Quotes shall assure that the offeror possesses all materials and equipment necessary to complete the project. The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries has determined that prevailing wages are not required to be paid for the work performed. The most competitive rate quotes submitted will form the basis for a logging road repair project to be negotiated between the offeror and the Town Forester. All quotes must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked, “Town Forester, Town of Cathlamet, Logging Road Repair, Hourly Rate Quotes, attention Kerrie McNally.” Quotes must be RECEIVED in the Town Hall office at 102 Main Street, Cathlamet, WA 98612-0068 no later than 12 Noon, and opened at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2014. Telephoned, faxed, or emailed quotes are not allowed.

For further information, please call the Town Forester at (360) 749-1977 or the Town office at (360) 795-3203. The Town reserves the right to reject all quotes, and to waive any minor defects in quotes that otherwise substantially comply with this invitation.
