A longtime patron of the Elochoman Slough Marina died Saturday on his boat.

A friend, Johnny Phillips of Cathlamet, found David R. Curry, 66, Eagle Creek, Ore., unconscious on Curry's boat with the engine running. Phillips called for aid, and emergency medical technicians and Dr. Richard Avalon responded but were unable to revive Curry.
The cause of death is under investigation, Coroner Dan Bigelow said Tuesday. An autopsy was being performed and could give a preliminary indication of the cause of death. Blood tests, which would show carbon monoxide poisoning, require a couple of weeks to complete.
