Wahkiakum County author Robert Michael Pyle will appear in Skamokawa on February 3 at Redmen Hall, with his new book, "Sky Time in Grays River: Living for Keeps in a Forgotten Place."
Pyle plans to read selections from this very personal book of essays, set in the pastoral valley of Grays River, famous for its covered bridge.
Critically acclaimed to be Pyle's best book yet, "Sky Time" has been described as a "beautiful, big hearted book from a leading figure in the resurgence of American nature writing", by Brian Doyle, editor of Portland Magazine. The Friends of Skamokawa will host the reading and book signing from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. as their seasonal reopening and will serve an array of refreshments. Call 795-3007 or 465-2539 for more information.
