The Wahkiakum Mule boys basketball team reached the semifinals of the Southwest 2B Boys District Basketball Tournament with a 63-48 win over the White Pass Panthers last Saturday.
They take on the Mossyrock Vikings tonight (Thursday), 8 p.m., in a semifinal game in Chehalis. The winner advances to the championship, 8 p.m. Saturday in Chehalis; the loser heads into the consolation bracket Friday to fight for one of remaining four district berths in the state tournament.
The Mules beat White Pass twice in the regular season, and there wasn’t much difference Saturday. They adjusted their offense and started picking the pressuring Panther defense apart, leading 14-8 after one quarter and 32-19 at halftime.
Toby David put in 26 points to lead the scoring; Romeo Savant had 21, Travis Bain nine and Brandon Ferguson 7.
