In other business, Commissioners Gilbertsen and Carlton Appelo—Commissioner Kyle Gribskov was absent—voted to adopt a bank program for credit card use.
McClain said there is a growing demand for credit cards, especially from people wanting to reserve and pay for park camp sites over the phone.
The commissioners also authorized McClain to work with the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce to set up a website for the district and Skamokawa Vista Park.
McClain said March use of the park is ahead previous years; the park’s new yurts are proving to be a popular draw, he said.
McClain also said he has contacted the US Coast Guard at Cape Disappointment to see if they would have concrete anchors for the last buoy the district is placing in Grays Bay.
In response to requests from western Wahkiakum County residents, the district agreed to install a new set of buoys in Grays Bay. The main channel was marked last year, McClain said; the final buoy will mark the Harrington Point entrance to the channel.
