The Wahkiakum Mule baseball team boosted their season record to 4-0 with wins over Winlock and Morton on Monday and Tuesday.
On Monday, the Mules topped Winlock 11-1 in five innings by the 10 run rule.
"Blain Fritzie started and pitched all five innings giving up only four hits and striking out five Winlock hitters," said Coach Jeff Rooklidge.
Brenden McClain was 2-3 at the place with 1 run batted in (rbi) and two runs scored. Travis Bain had an rbi single and scored twice. Ty Briscoe was 3-4 with 4 rbi's and a double. Matt Doumit had a two rbi single; Blake Anderson had a two rbi single; Josh was 1-3 with a double; Ben Doumit was 1-1 with three runs scored, and Fritzie was 2-3 with two rbi's on a double and single.
"Briscoe made a nice play on defense and really had a good all around game," Rooklidge said. "Bain also played solid defense, and Ben Doumit called a good game behind the plate as a catcher and helped Blain shut down the Winlock offense."
On Tuesday, the Mules jumped ahead of Morton and coasted to a 12-7 win over the Huskies.
McClain drove in a run, scored three more runs, and stole four bases. Bain was 2-4 with two rbi's, and Briscoe hit a solo home run and batted in two more runs.
Matt Doumit pitched the win.
