A variety of local election will be on the ballots this year, and with the advance of the primary election date to August, filing is much sooner.
Candidates will file June 4-8 at the Wahkiakum County Auditor's office 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Positions on the ballot include:
--County commissioner, District 3, 3-year unexpired term; incumbent Independent Tom Doumit is seeking election. Filing fee is $359.80.
--Fire District 1, 6-year term, Wayne Holloway, incumbent. All fire district positions are Non-Partisan.
--Fire District 2, 6-year term, NP, Kent Martin incumbent.
--Fire District 3, 6-year term, NP, Lawrence Rose incumbent.
Fire District 4, 6-year term, NP, Larry Hendrickson incumbent.
Cemetery District 1, 6-year term, NP, Fred Stanley incumbent.
Cemetery District 2, 6-year term, Dennis Reid incumbent.
Port District 1, Position 1, 6-year term, NP, Charlie DeDolph incumbent.
Port District 2, Position 2, 6-year term, NP, Kyle Gribskov incumbent.
Skamokawa Water/Sewer District, Position 2, 2-year unexpired term, NP, Val Ross appointed March, 2007.
