The Lady Mules Summer Varsity Basketball Team this past weekend took on the task of competing in the annual Chehalis Hoops Classic Tourney 2007.
After playing six games in two days, the Mules prevailed as the Mid-Major Division Champions with a six win and no loss effort.
They were victorious over Winlock, Cle Ellum (twice) Napavine, Ilwaco and won the championship game over Raymond. There were a total of 15 teams in the Mid-Major Tourney of both A and B level teams. They outscored their opponents 198 points to 125 points.
The team was led by the scoring of Whitley Wirkkala, Courtney Helms and Evelyn Clark. Other team members with supporting roles were Shelby Deaton, Jordyn Wirkkala, Halie Boyce, Tasha Ford and Kari Schillios.
This tournament wrapped up their summer schedule of games and now they move on to a team camp the third week in July at Soap Lake.
