Your 2007 princesses are:
Nikki Hoven, Brande Lorenzo and Destiney Miller.
Nikki has lived in Wahkiakum County for four years. “I like the small community. Its easy to know people”. A cheerful disposition and sense of humor is an asset in her community involvement. She volunteers at daycare at the St. James Family Center and teaches sports and activities for the Youth Adventure Program.
Brande enjoys softball, bowling with friends in Longview and enjoys working with children at the St. James Center. And yes, she’s available for babysitting! She is a new participant in Wahkiakum Search and Rescue. She likes the small town atmosphere of Wahkiakum County. “In this school, you know everyone you’ll graduate with.”
Destiney likes to ride and has a horse of her own named Midnight Mocha. An active young person, she has been part of Wahkiakum Search and Rescue for two years, involved in missing persons and evidence search. “It can be scary, but we’re glad when we find the missing people right away.” Her friends are her favorite part of living in Wahkiakum County. “It’s a safe place to be.”
Participation in the Fair Princess program includes event planning, essay writing and an oral presentation, as well as advance marketing of Wahkiakum County Fair season passes. These young women are making the Fair the major part of their summer plans as the countdown begins to the Coronation and awards. A $500 scholarship for post-secondary education and $500 Queen’s Award will go to the top participant in their respective categories.
