A team of young Cathlamet golfers who compete on the fledgling Wahkiakum High School golf team won the annual Kiwanis Club of Cathlamet’s Scholarship Tournament July 7 at Skyline Golf Course.
Placing first in the scramble competition were the team of Andrew Weiler, Cody Olsen, Cole Claussen and Chase Fritzie.
Finishing second were the team of Don Conway, Jim Miller, Randy Zacher and Joan Wren.
Finishing third were the team of David Goodroe, Dave Batt, Cliff Kilponen and Bob Thomas.
Winning the longest drive competitions were, men, Zacher, and women, Pam Abena.
Winning the closest to the pin competitions were Conway and Earl Fisher.
The tournament should net about $2,750 which will be used for scholarships for Wahkiakum High School seniors.
