Taxes must be filed to receive economic stimulus payment
AARP volunteers will be offering help with tax returns on April 2 in the River Street Meeting Room in Cathlamet from noon to 4 p.m.
Organizers of the free service have sent out reminders to those receiving social security or VA benefits that in order to receive the economic stimulus payment, a 1040 tax form must be filed.
Participants are asked to bring a social security card, social security statements, any pension statements or interest earned statments.
