The Wahkiakum Mule boys basketball team lost their season opener 68-50 at South Bend on Saturday.
The hosts jumped to a 15-2 first quarter lead and pushed that to 38-16 at halftime.
"We're young," Mule Coach Bill Olsen said. "We've got to do some building."
Cody Olsen led the Mule scoring with 17 points; Ty Bain added 10.
The Mules are at Adna on Saturday. They host Pe Ell on Tuesday and go to Toutle Lake next Friday.
