Archive Center visitors get a lift
The Appelo Archive Center in Naselle recently installed a new commercial stair lift to help visitors and staff get to the Center's second floor.
With the addition of the lift, visitors will be able to see the displays, and browse through the library and the 3,500 historic photographs of the area.
The lift has been installed to make the Archive Center accessible for all the visitors who come to the Center, as well as those in the area who want to visit the Center but who have had trouble with the stairs in the past.
The lift is a commercial one that has been inspected and approved for use and was paid for with funding from Wahkiakum West Telephone, Bradwood Landing, and private donors. It was recently installed to make it available for the new Historic Military Uniforms display opening on May 24 at 1 p.m. The display will also be open for Memorial Day, opening at 11 a.m. For more information, contact the Center at 360-484-7103.
