The ferry Wahkiakum will head to drydock next week.
Wahkiakum County Public Works Director Pete Ringen said Tuesday that Astoria Marine Construction plans to be able to take the ferry next Monday for an inspection and maintenance that should last about a week.
"We will be able to operate the early morning runs on the 25th," Ringen said. "Our last scheduled run will be the run from Westport to Puget Island, leaving Westport at 7:15 a.m.
"The duration of dry dock is expected to take about a week, but is uncertain, depending on what is encountered."
