The ferry "Wahkiakum" may return to service Saturday afternoon, Wahkiakum County Public Works Director Pete Ringen announced Friday.
"It sounds promising for tomorrow afternoon (Saturday)," Ringen said. "No guarantees until it is actually here and back in service, but sounds very promising."
Crewmembers discovered a crack leaking water through the hull on October 23, and the ferry was pulled from service. It went into an Astoria Drydock for repair on October 29.
