Wahkiakum County's Facebook page reported, "On the way back from Astoria dry dock last Saturday, the port engine went out. It looks like it won't be swapped out until mid-week."
The county swapped out an engine earlier this year and had it rebuilt for a spare.
The ferry first went out or service October 23 when crew members noticed water leaking through a crack in the hull. The ferry was returning to Puget Island from this repair when the engine failed.
