PUD to cut ribbon for new substation

Wahkiakum PUD will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 24 at 10 a.m. for the Wahkiakum Substation at 116 Jacobson Road (corner of Jacobson and Columbia) in Cathlamet.

Wear denim Wednesday to support victims

Staff of St. James Family Center/The Charlotte House are asking people to join them and stand up for an end to sexual violence by wearing denim with a purpose on April 24.

Prescription drug take-back day set

Wahkiakum County will participate in the free national prescription drug-take back day to be held April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at two locations, the Cathlamet Pharmacy, 74 Main Street and Johnson Park, 30 Rosburg School Road in Rosburg.

Eagle issues invitation to poets

The Eagle will devote a page to local poets in our May 2 edition. We invite poets of all ages to submit poems with an approximate maximum of 150 words. Submissions must be emailed or submitted to our office, with name, address and phone number, on or before April 25.

Conservation district has grant money to fight knotweed infestations

The Wahkiakum Conservation District has received grant funding from the Washington State Salmon Recovery Funding Board to manage the Knotweed within the Skamokawa Creek watershed.

Marine spatial planning event to be held April 22
