The District 4 Fire Department, along with Wahkiakum Fire Districts 1 and 2, the Cathlamet Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a house fire on Crown Camp Road in the Elochoman Valley on Saturday night. "Crews did a good job protecting surrounding structures especially considering the limited water supply in the upper Elochoman Valley," District 4 Chief Matt Beaulaurier said. "The severe weather and darkness made fire suppression more challenging, both by slowing response due to poor road conditions and making it more difficult to safely operate on the scene." No injuries were reported.
