Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
March 19--11:22 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Main Street address to aid a man having a seizure. 3:16 p.m. A Fern Hill Road resident reported a possible fraud after receiving a Wells Fargo bill for over $2,400 despite not having an account with them. 4:59 p.m. A Delores Road resident reported an assault on a juvenile. Child Protective Services were notified.
March 20--6:30 a.m. A West SR 4 resident reported hearing shots fired in the Alger Creek area. A deputy investigated. 11:40 a.m. A caller reported a subject with a felony warrant was planning on leaving the state. 12:11 p.m. A caller reported a dead cow in a field on Puget Island. The owners were contacted and stated that the ground was too wet for a tractor and that they would remove the animal once the ground conditions improved.
March 21--A Middle Valley Road resident reported a case of child abuse. CPS was notified.
March 22--5:17 p.m. Deputies responded to an incident involving a vehicle at the trailer park. One person was taken into custody At 5:45 p.m. A caller at a Cathlamet business reported that the vehicle's passenger had returned and driven off, heading south on Jacobson Road.
March 23--3:30 p.m. Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Front Street. 5:19 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to an Altoona-Pillar Rock Road residence to aid an 86-year-old man who had fallen. 10:52 p.m. An East Little Island Road resident reported that her cat had been shot. The animal survived and was taken to a vet. The owner requested a deputy to make contact. 11:41 p.m. A caller reported that his car was in a ditch and that he would be returning to the scene.
March 24--11:10 a.m. A caller reported hearing multiple shots fired in the Beaver Creek area .12:35 p.m. An Eden Valley Road resident reported a burglary in which a big screen television had been stolen. A deputy responded. 3:36 p.m. A West Sunny Sands Road resident reported vehicles speeding. A deputy responded and ran radar tests.
March 25--1:29 p.m. A Columbia Street resident reported a broken pipe in her yard was spraying water from the ground.
