Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

December 16 – 1:26 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a boy suffering a severe asthma attack at the middle school. 1:42 p.m. A caller reported that he had confronted some trespassers after finding a door that had been kicked in. 5:16 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a juvenile who was having a seizure. 9:27 p.m. A caller reported that a car had gone into a ditch on Puget Island. There were no injuries or damage reported and the owner said he would remove the vehicle.

December 17 – 7:12 a.m. A caller reported that the vehicle in the ditch on Puget Island had not been moved; a deputy contacted the owner. 3:38 p.m. A motel owner called to report that a note had been found in a room that stated, “Help me I have been kidnapped.” He requested a welfare check on the Puget Island resident who had been registered in that room. 6:09 p.m. A caller reported a break in at the radio repeater on KM Mountain. 6:11 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a resident who was having a seizure. 6:48 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle blocking westbound traffic on SR 4 just west of County Line Park.

December 18 – 1:52 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident called to report that there may have been a prowler; the dogs had been barking and the barn door was found open. 3:21 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale residence; a deputy found an open door. A neighbor reported seeing the owner leave five minutes earlier and the deputy secured the door. 9:47 p.m. A caller reported that the intersection at SR 4 and Main Street was a sheet of ice.

December 19 – 3:01 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported slick roads. 12:16 p.m. Health and Human Services requested a presence from the sheriff’s office to assist with a potentially difficult client who needed to be hospitalized. 6:47 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to the report of a chimney fire in the Elochoman Valley. 11:59 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the Puget Island Fire Department responded to a Puget Island home to aid a resident who had fallen.

December 20 – 1:53 p.m. A caller reported that that she had been assaulted and was not being allowed to leave the home. 2:30 p.m. A motorist reported rocks in the westbound lane of SR 4 just east of Nassa Point. 3:31 p.m. A caller reported a calf in the roadway in East Valley. 8:31 p.m. Two callers reported large rocks in both lanes on SR 4 just east of Nassa Point. 8:51 p.m. A caller reported that a small rock-and-mudslide was forming on SR 4 near Flandersville.

December 21 – A caller reported that a juvenile had left the home through a bedroom window; the juvenile was located and agreed to go home. 12:39 p.m. A caller reported a power outage at the fish hatchery in the Elochoman Valley; the PUD was notified. 2:32 p.m. A Little Cape Horn resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked at a neighbor’s home. 3:41 p.m. A caller reported that duck hunters were shooting ducks from a moving boat; a message was left for Fish and Wildlife. 4:33 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a student who was feeling dizzy and shaken at the high school. 6:04 p.m. A caller reported an unwelcome visitor who was making threatening statements.

December 22 – 6:22 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported that there had been loud music playing all night at a party nearby. 7:14 a.m. A caller reported a tree in the roadway in the Elochoman Valley. 9:52 a.m. An alarm was sounded at a Rosburg business; it was an accidental activation. 10:00 a.m. A report of domestic violence at an Elochoman residence was called in to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. A subject was taken into custody. 12:15 p.m. District 4 Fire Department responded to the report of a chimney fire in East Valley. 5:37 p.m. A caller reported hearing shots fired; a deputy located the subject and informed him it was a no shooting zone. 9:05 p.m. A caller requested assistance with a family member who had mixed medication with alcohol.

December 23 – 12:26 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale home to assist a resident with chest pain and high blood pressure.
