Sheriff's Report, January 2, 2014

 

December 31, 2013



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

December 23 – 9:26 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a theft. 10:18 a.m. A caller requested a crisis counselor; Mental Health Services was notified. 12:55 p.m. A caller reported several harassing phone calls. 4:29 p.m. A caller reported a westbound vehicle driving erratically on SR 4 near County Line Park; the vehicle was located and the driver was pulled over. 4:41 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that their spouse had taken their child and the child’s possessions; the resident was advised to take up the matter in civil court. 4:45 p.m. A caller reported that cows were loose on the island; the owner was contacted. 4:58 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported being threatened and verbally abused. 5:12 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver headed westbound on SR 4 near Flandersville. 6:53 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to the report of an object on fire in the river; it was ascertained that it was a recreational fire and no emergency services were required.

December 24 – 8:42 a.m. A caller reported a diesel spill on Una Street in Cathlamet. 8:43 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported an unknown large dog on their property and requested assistance. A deputy responded, the Humane Society was advised and the dog was taken to a rescue home. 10:02 a.m. A fire alarm was activated at a Cathlamet business; it was a false alarm and all units were told to stand down. 11:48 a.m. A caller reported receiving harassing phone calls for the last two years. 11:49 a.m. A caller reported mistreatment of animals at an East Valley residence; the Humane Society was contacted. 7:50 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported hearing shots fired.

December 25 – 5:14 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a domestic disturbance regarding a custody dispute and requested an officer. 6:40 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence to aid an elderly woman with a deep cut on her leg. 7:30 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley resident who had passed out. The resident refused transport to the hospital. 11:17 p.m. A domestic disturbance was reported at a Cathlamet residence; officers responded. 11:32 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported hearing shots fired near Erickson Park.

December 26 – 1:38 p.m. A caller reported a violation of a no contact order. 2:32 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that a suspicious salesperson had come to the door claiming to represent Dish Network; he had no credentials and was not wearing a uniform. 4:57 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Rosedale resident who was feeling ill.

December 27 – 7:24 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who was having chest pain. 8:49 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported receiving a suspicious letter in the mail.

December28 – 10:04 p.m. A caller reported receiving calls and text messages from an ex-spouse despite an anti-harassment order.

December 29 – 2:10 a.m. A caller reported that a fawn had been hit on SR 4 on the east end of the county. 2:27 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported hearing shots fired. 12:06 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a residence where a medical alarm had been activated. 12:29 p.m. A caller reported a domestic disturbance at a Puget Island residence. 1:27 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an elderly Rosburg resident who had broken an arm. 5:34 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who was extremely weak. 11:46 p.m. A caller reported a car off the road on SR 4 on the Elochoman flat. The Cathlamet ambulance, District 4 Fire Department and deputies conducted a secondary search when the vehicle was found to be unoccupied.
