Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 3 – 12:32 p.m. A vehicle broke down in the roadway on SR 4 near the view point above the marina. 2:28 p.m. A driver was pulled over at County Line Park and taken into custody. 6:52 p.m. A caller reported that a cow had gotten loose on Puget Island; the owner was notified.

February 4 – 1:46 a.m. A caller reported hearing someone outside their Puget Island home; a deputy responded. 10:50 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the Family Health Center to transport an elderly woman with chest pain to the hospital. 1:35 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report harassment. 1:46 p.m. The sheriff’s office, the Cathlamet ambulance and District 4 Fire Department responded to a collision between a log truck and a van on SR 4 in the Elochoman area; an injury was reported. 2:30 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported cell phone fraud. 2:54 p.m. A representative from the high school requested a deputy to pick up confiscated drug paraphernalia. 2:56 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance returned to the site of an earlier collision to check on a second person complaining of an injury. 5:00 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a young boy who had not been seen for a few days; the boy and his mother were contacted.

February 5 – 9:12 a.m. A caller reported that food and money had been stolen at the grade school. 10:19 a.m. A Rosedale business reported a burglary. 1:10 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a woman after seeing her dog running loose. 6:59 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the Skamokawa Fire Department responded to a Skamokawa residence to assist an individual who was not feeling well.

February 6 – 7:55 a.m. A caller reported seeing a suspicious vehicle in the Flandersville area; the caller also reported that trailers in the area had been burglarized recently. 8:26 a.m. A caller reported an injured hawk near the Elochoman Bridge on SR 4; fish and wildlife were notified. 9:25 a.m. A caller reported a missing dog; the dog was later found. 10:05 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported the theft of gas from a vehicle. 11:10 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Elochoman Valley residence to aid a man who had become confused after returning home following a traffic accident. 4:04 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was complaining of blurred vision. 4:18 p.m. A truck towing a trailer stalled in the roadway on SR 4 near Messinger Hill Rd. 5:06 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle parked alongside the road, partly in one lane of traffic on Puget Island. 6:52 p.m. A caller reported a disabled vehicle blocking all lanes of traffic on SR 4 in the Rosedale area. 9:17 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a suspicious phone call from someone in Camas, asking him to check his electricity. 9:36 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a suspicious person outside the house.

February 7 – 4:45 a.m. A Cathlamet resident requested assistance from the sheriff’s office after asking a guest to leave and being refused. 5:51 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported being assaulted. 8:13 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported the theft of funds from a bank account. 10:20 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet residence to aid an individual with lacerations to the foot. 10:53 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that documents had been stolen from a vehicle. 3:29 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a home near County Line Park to aid a person who was ill. 6:26 p.m. A caller reported that someone was driving recklessly in the Deep River area. 7:02 p.m. A caller reported a one vehicle accident on Puget Island. 9:07 p.m. A caller reported vehicles spinning out on Greenwood Rd.

February 8 – 9:38 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence to assist an individual who had gotten stuck. 10:13 a.m. A caller reported that a dog was seen chasing an injured deer in the Skamokawa area; fish and wildlife were notified. 12:16 p.m. The Skamokawa Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Skamokawa resident who was having chest pain. 1:43 p.m. A caller reported an accident involving one vehicle; no injuries were reported. 3:03 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Rosburg resident who had had a seizure. 5:01 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a family member after receiving strange emails. 9:50 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a major water leak; the PUD was notified. 10:47 p.m. A caller reported a tree in the roadway on SR 4 near Flandersville. 11:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Elochoman Valley residence to aid a woman who was not feeling well.

February 9 – 10:56 a.m. A Grays River resident complained that the neighbor’s dangerous dog had come into the yard. 11:06 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a missing dog. 1:12 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that there was water spraying under their house; the PUD responded. 5:14 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Puget Island resident who was feeling ill. 6:16 p.m. A caller reported that items had been stolen from the clothes bank bin in Rosedale. 11:40 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Elochoman Valley resident who had fallen.

February 10 – 6:11 a.m. A caller reported that two horses were loose in Skamokawa; the owner was notified.
