Sheriff's Report, February 20, 2014

 

February 19, 2014



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and

emergency response personnel handled a variety of

reports during the past week, including:

February 10 – 9:24 a.m. A Skamokawa resident

reported that horses had been deliberately spooked

and set free. 2:23 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident

complained that a neighbor’s dog was chasing

his livestock. 4:36 p.m. A deer got caught in a state

catch net on Puget Island; fish and wildlife were

alerted. Fish and wildlife checked all nets and could

not locate the animal. 5:41 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire

Department responded to a Puget Island home where

flames had been seen rising from the chimney. 9:11

p.m. A motorist damaged two tires on a rock in the

roadway east of West Cape Horn. 11:06 p.m. Several

callers from the Elochoman Valley area reported a

power outage; the PUD responded.

February 11 – 2:15 a.m. An Elochoman Valley

resident reported a power outage; the PUD was notified.

3:30 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded

to a Cathlamet residence to assist an elderly woman

who was ill. 10:35 a.m. A caller reported that a

vehicle had sustained damage after being hit in a

parking lot downtown; the offender was unknown

and had left the scene. 11:03 a.m. The sheriff’s office

and the Skamokawa Fire Department responded

to a fire alarm at a Skamokawa residence; it was a

false alarm. 11:29 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance

responded to a Skamokawa residence to assist with

a lift. 12:14 p.m. The sheriff’s office, Skamokawa

Fire Department and District 4 Fire Department

responded to a fire alarm at a Skamokawa residence.

4:38 p.m. A Grays River resident discussed concerns

with a deputy about a dog trespassing on her property.

6:49 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded

to aid an elderly Elochoman Valley resident having

a heart attack. 9:29 p.m. A caller reported a tree

down on SR 4 near Nassa Point.

February 12 – 2:50 a.m. Several residents

reported seeing and hearing a transformer blow in

Cathlamet; power went out in town and on Puget

Island. The PUD was notified. 6:15 a.m. A Puget

Island resident reported a car prowl. 6:51 a.m. An

East Valley resident reported that the power was out.

8:10 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a

Cathlamet business to aid a woman who was unable

to walk. 3:52 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported a

missing dog. 4:22 p.m. A Deep River resident reported

that a young bull had died of what appeared to be

unnatural causes. 9:08 p.m. An officer responded to

a Rosedale home where a domestic dispute between

a juvenile and adult had been reported.

February 13 – 1:57 a.m. The Grays River ambulance

responded to a Deep River home to assist a

resident who was having trouble breathing. 8:26 a.m.

The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Deep

River resident who was having chest pain. 9:41 a.m.

The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman

Valley resident who was having chest pain.

10:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to

aid an Elochoman Valley resident who was having

chest pain. 12:45 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office removed

vehicles from a tow away zone in the Rosburg area.

1:35 p.m. A caller reported that her trailer had been

removed from the land she was leasing. 4:24 p.m. A

caller reported that a juvenile had not returned from

school; the juvenile was located and returned home.

4:54 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to

a Rosedale residence to assist with a lift. 5:00 p.m.

Two men were seen shooting ducks out of season

on Puget Island. 5:08 p.m. The Skamokawa Fire

Department responded to a Rosedale residence to

assist with a lift; the lift had already been done by

the Cathlamet ambulance staff at 4:54 p.m. 7:22

p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded

to a flooded apartment in Cathlamet.

February 14 -- 10:46 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance

responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who

was having a seizure. 10:56 a.m. The District 4 Fire

Department responded to a Rosedale residence to

assist with a lift; the Cathlamet ambulance was

requested as well. 5:52 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance

responded to a Cathlamet residence to aid

someone who was feeling ill. 7:04 p.m. An alarm was

activated at a Rosburg business; a deputy responded

and found everything secure. A responsible party

reported that an employee had accidentally set off

the alarm while locking up.

February 15 – 9:17 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance

responded to a Rosedale residence to assist

an elderly man who had fallen and sustained facial

injuries. 10:51 a.m. A caller reported that a slow

moving vehicle was holding up westbound traffic on

SR 4 near Nassa Point. 4:44 p.m. A caller reported a

tree limb on SR 4 and another hanging precariously

over the roadway in the Rosburg area. 5:28 p.m. A

Skamokawa resident reported that power was out

in the area; the PUD was notified. 5:36 p.m. A caller

reported that a large tree was down on the roadway

in the Rosburg area. 6:37 p.m. A caller reported

hearing four shots fired in the Elochoman Valley.

February 16 – 12:14 a.m. An illegal fire was

reported in the Elochoman Valley. 11:35 a.m. A

caller reported a door open at a Rosedale business;

a responsible party went to check it out and found

nothing amiss. 9:07 p.m. A caller reported that a

tree was down on SR 4 near Rosburg. 10:44 p.m.

A caller reported that a van was partially blocking

westbound lanes on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area; the van belonged to state patrol.
