Sheriff's Report, March 13, 2014

 

March 12, 2014



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

March 3 – 6:41 a.m. A caller reported a large object in the eastbound lane of SR 4 west of County Line Park. 2:27 p.m. A caller reported that a travel trailer was blocking one lane of a Cathlamet street. 3:36 p.m. A caller requested assistance in evicting an individual from his Rosedale property. Officers were unable to locate the individual but placed a notice on his vehicle to notify him that it would be towed if not removed within 24 hours. 5:23 p.m. An Elochoman resident reported that gas had been siphoned from a vehicle and that earlier someone had been seen driving slowly past the home, possibly “casing the place”. 6:24 p.m. A caller was concerned about a man dressed in dark clothing and walking in both lanes of traffic on the Puget Island Bridge. 8:30 p.m. A woman was seen dragging a bucket by a rope in the eastbound lane of SR 4 near Nassa Point. 8:53 p.m. A caller reported hearing a loud crash and a woman yelling in the East Valley area. It was discovered that a vehicle had gone into a ditch; a tow truck was requested.

March 4 – 4:43 a.m. There was a report from County Line Park of a woman complaining of low blood sugar and asking to use a phone to call her husband. 4:52 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid the woman who was complaining of low blood sugar. She refused assistance. 4:55 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Elochoman Valley residence to assist an elderly woman who had fallen and sustained an injury. 7:00 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that someone was trespassing. 7:58 a.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 west of Nassa Point. 9:28 a.m. A Rosedale resident complained that the neighbor’s dog continually returned to his residence; he wants them to keep the dog at home. 7:21 p.m. A cow was found on a Puget Island roadway. 8:21 p.m. A caller reported seeing a missing person. 9:21 p.m. A caller reported seeing a suspicious vehicle parked at a Deep River boat ramp.

March 5 – 1:14 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Rosburg resident who was having abdominal pain. 4:46 p.m. A caller reported that a stranger had attempted to pick up juvenile at a bus stop. 4:50 p.m. A vehicle illegally passed a stopped school bus.

March 6 – 7:58 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Rosburg residence to aid an elderly man who was having trouble breathing. 9:41 a.m. A parent reported that a child had been assaulted at the middle school. 11:13 a.m. A caller complained about a vehicle that was parked in the District 4 Fire Department parking lot. 11:15 a.m. Water was reported on several roadways in the Westend. 3:48 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported seeing two people duck down suspiciously while they drove past his home.

March 7 – 9:45 a.m. A caller reported seeing the blinds move in one of the empty houses at the closed hatchery in the Elochoman Valley. 3:14 p.m. A caller reported that a horse was stuck in a ditch in East Valley. 8:32 p.m. A caller reported a stalled vehicle on Puget Island.

March 8 – 7:59 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Grays River resident who was having a seizure. 9:09 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that someone had parked heavy machinery in her yard; she was unable to locate the owner. 8:08 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone had parked in front of his driveway.

March 9 – 1:22 p.m. A caller reported that a road in the Skamokawa area had dropped a foot. 2:48 p.m. A caller reported two cows on a Puget Island road. 5:05 p.m. US Fish and Wildlife was notified after their boat at the marina was found to be riding low in the water and full of standing water. 5:59 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that a neighbor had been using a burn barrel against regulation. 10:32 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was ill.
