Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

April 21 – 9:39 a.m. A resident of the Elochoman Valley reported the theft of gas. 1:34 p.m. Cathlamet emergency personnel aided a man with a cut to his hand. 2:22 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transferred a clinic patient who had suffered a possible stroke to Life Flight. 2:46 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to Puget Island to aid a person with a possibly broken hand; the person refused aid. 7:32 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Puget Island residence to aid a juvenile who had lacerations to the back of his head. 8:46 p.m. A caller reported a shoplifter at a Cathlamet business.

April 22 – 9:47 a.m. The sheriff’s office and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence after receiving a report that an agitated individual had hidden a knife and the family was frightened.

April 23 – 8:41 a.m. A caller reported a tree down on a Rosburg road. 10:53 a.m. A gun holster was seen in the back seat of a suspicious vehicle parked at the locked gate of an Elochoman Valley home; a subject was detained. 12:57 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who had a possible seizure. 1:28 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a suspicious man had attempted to get into his home.

April 24 – 5:13 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that he had been repeatedly threatened and harassed; at 6:22 a.m. he reported that the assailants had come to his home and were threatening to shoot him. 7:17 a.m. A caller reported minor flooding on a Grays River road. 2:23 p.m. A caller reported the theft of timber in the Skamokawa area. 4:13 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an elderly Grays River resident. 8:20 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle was driving all over the road and well under the speed limit heading westbound on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area.

April 25 – 12:12 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported three recent fraudulent phone calls involving a virus on his computer; the sheriff’s office advised him not to give out his credit card number or passwords. 2:56 a.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to a fire alarm that was activated at a Rosedale residence. 7:21 A caller reported a large rock in the roadway on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 11:47 a.m. A caller reported a deceased deer blocking the road in the Elochoman Valley. 9:02 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Grays River resident who had not been heard from in four days; the individual was located out of town. 11:51 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who was having chest pain.

April 26 – 1:10 a.m. A power outage was reported in the Elochoman Valley; the PUD was notified. 10:52 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported that someone had broken into his home; he requested extra patrols in the area. 11:01 a.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle heading west on SR 4 from County Line Park. 11:42 a.m. A caller reported hearing a loud explosion in the Skamokawa area; a deputy located subjects target shooting explosive targets.

April 27 – 5:56 p.m. Two subjects were seen discharging firearms in the Elochoman Valley; the caller made contact with the subjects and discovered that one of the individuals was the property owner. 9:01 p.m. A caller reported that an alarm was activated at a Puget Island residence; a deputy investigated and discovered the home was vacant.
