Sheriff's Report, May 29, 2014

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

May 19 – 1:02 a.m. An emergency operations center in Klickitat County requested assistance in a search and rescue effort for a man lost in the Klickitat River. 8:51 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported being harassed by a former employee. 9:33 a.m. A caller complained about noise coming from an Elochoman Valley business. 11:33 a.m. A Puget Island resident called about an unstable individual who was carrying a weapon and on his way to the area. 1:14 p.m. A caller reported a boat in the Cathlamet Channel that needed to be towed because the anchor had gotten stuck in the propeller. 6:57 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had been broken into in the Flandersville area while he was fishing.

May 20 – 7:19 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Puget Island resident who was in pain. 7:31 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a cow was loose. 11:19 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported hearing shots fired. 11:28 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported the violation of a restraining order. 12:27 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported a phone scam involving a magazine subscription. 12:35 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle moving all over the roadway and heading westbound on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 7:40 p.m. A dead deer was reported in the roadway on SR 4 near the east end of the county.

May 21 – 9:15 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Grays River resident who was having a seizure. 11:19 a.m. A caller reported finding a dog without a collar or tags wandering in the Elochoman Valley. 6:21 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an unconscious Skamokawa resident. 10:31 p.m. Cowlitz County asked deputies to assist in locating a suicidal individual.

May 22 – 10:29 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was having respiratory issues. 12:08 p.m. A caller reported that items had been stolen from a vehicle in Cathlamet. 12:33 p.m. A caller reported that two girls were fighting at the school. 12:51 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported an online scam regarding a job application. 1:45 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 4:51 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported child pornography. 5:37 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle all over the road on SR 4.

May 23 – 10:49 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was dizzy, short of breath and acting “weird”. 2:04 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that 13 firearms had been stolen in 2012. 4:49 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported an assault. 6:45 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported being followed and feeling unsafe. 9:16 p.m. Three donkeys were seen on the roadway in the Skamokawa area.

May 24 – 5:25 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley resident with chest pain. 5:38 a.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department came in to assist with a LifeFlight landing to transport the Elochoman Valley resident. 12:01 p.m. A caller reported that her credit card had been used fraudulently at a Rosedale business. 3:06 p.m. A caller reported a possible bear bait station in Deep River. 8:42 p.m. A caller reported that the front door of a Cathlamet residence was wide open despite homeowner being out of town.

May 25 – 12:05 p.m. A caller reported a sign on the shoulder of SR 4 near the western end of the county. 3:28 p.m. A caller in the midst of a divorce requested a welfare check on his kids who he had not seen or heard from in six days. 6:47 p.m. A caller requested assistance in locating a person who had been riding a motorbike in the Elochoman Valley area and hadn’t been seen for six hours.

May 26 – 12:32 a.m. A caller reported that a car had broken down on Puget Island and was blocking a lane of traffic.
