Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

July 14 – 12:24 p.m. A juvenile assaulted two family members; a domestic violence advocate was called in, and the juvenile was taken into custody. 1:32 p.m. A caller reported that three steelhead fishing rods had been stolen from his boat. 1:42 p.m. A caller requested that deputies stand by while he picked up his personal belongings from a Puget Island home. 2:27 p.m. A mailbox was stolen in the Rosburg area. 4:47 p.m. A caller reported household debris on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area. 9:52 p.m. A caller reported that a large tree had been cut down and dragged to a residence in the Elochoman Valley area.

July 15 – 6:48 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle was all over the roadway on SR 4 on the west side of KM. 9:54 a.m. A Cathlamet business reported that they wanted a customer removed after he had become verbally abusive. 4:48 p.m. A caller reported a possibly intoxicated driver heading westbound on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 5:15 p.m. A juvenile was seen throwing something at a building in Erickson Park; a deputy investigated and found that no damage had been done. 6:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the Skamokawa Fire Department responded to aid a Skamokawa resident with chest pain.

July 16 – 10:35 a.m. Two full propane tanks were stolen from a camper at County Line Park. 4:43 p.m. A deputy investigated an alarm at a Rosedale residence; all was secure. 7:31 p.m. The PUD was notified after a Deep River resident reported a power outage. 7:57 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident with an eye injury. 9:04 p.m. The Grays River Fire Department and the Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Grays River resident who had fallen.

July 17 – 2:06 a.m. A caller reported a vehicle off the side of SR 4 just west of Nassa Point.

July 18 – 6:36 a.m. A caller reported a tree down and in power lines on Puget Island; the PUD was notified. 9:19 a.m. A caller reported that horses were being neglected at an Elochoman Valley residence. 11:35 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported the theft of several items from the home, including a vehicle; upon investigation it was discovered to be a civil matter. 12:06 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a stolen bike. 12:13 p.m. A caller who had been fishing reported that he had been harassed by an armed Little Cape Horn resident. According to the caller, the resident fired his weapon. 5:40 p.m. A caller reported three long pieces of metal on a Puget Island road; a deputy moved them off the road. 6:26 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle was blocking traffic near a Cathlamet business. 7:58 p.m. A subject was taken into custody after a vehicle stop on SR 4. 10:02 p.m. A suspicious vehicle was seen at a Rosburg cemetery.

July 19 – 5:08 a.m. A Cathlamet resident complained about barking dogs. 7:16 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the Skamokawa Fire Department responded to aid an elderly man with chest pain at a Skamokawa park. 7:31 a.m. A caller reported that a stop sign was down on Puget Island; the state Department of Transportation was notified. 8:51 a.m. A Skamokawa resident complained about juveniles speeding up and down the roadway on a four-wheeler. 10:41 a.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to the report of a possible grass fire on Puget Island. 11:09 a.m. A caller reported a vehicle traveling erratically on SR 4. 11:38 a.m. A motorist reported that rocks were blocking the westbound lane of SR 4 near Nassa Point. 2:00 p.m. A caller reported that a woman had called him and screamed at him, accusing him of sending pornographic messages to her child; investigation revealed that the woman had called the wrong number. 2:13 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Rosburg resident whose medical alarm had been activated; they were called back when the alarm company notified the department that it had been a test. 2:36 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle headed westbound on SR 4 was in both lanes and moving at a high rate of speed. 4:16 p.m. A caller reported being in possession of dogs that had been running loose; the caller was trying to locate the owner. 4:39 p.m. A caller reported that three young juveniles were using a wave runner at high speeds in the Skamokawa area; he was concerned that they were not being properly supervised. 7:32 p.m. A caller had found a small dog running loose in Cathlamet and had taken it home; the caller was trying to locate the owner. The owner was later reunited with the dog. 7:47 p.m. An intoxicated male subject was making threats and causing a disturbance at a Cathlamet business. 8:33 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle hit and run had caused damage to property in the Rosedale area. 8:38 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that fireworks were going off nearby. 8:54 p.m. An intoxicated male was seen sitting in a car near the marina; he was told not to drive. 9:38 p.m. A subject was taken into custody after operating a vehicle while intoxicated. 10:02 p.m. A caller reported that green laser lights were being directed at their home in Cathlamet. 11:52 p.m. A caller reported that her husband was following a suspicious vehicle that had pulled into their Puget Island driveway; the husband was advised to stop pursuing and a deputy made contact with the subject.

July 20 – 1:58 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman who was going in and out of consciousness in Cathlamet. 11:34 a.m. A caller requested a civil standby to pick up personal items at a Puget Island residence. 1:34 p.m. A caller reported seeing subjects lighting large fireworks at a Skamokawa park; the campers denied the use of fireworks and were given a warning. 3:07 p.m. An individual who was concerned about her safety requested that a deputy stand by during a meeting with co-workers in Rosburg. 5:45 p.m. A caller was concerned about smoke; investigation revealed that it was a barbecue.

July 21 – 7:32 a.m. A caller reported that a dog had been seen wandering around a Grays River road for a couple days. 7:37 a.m. A tree was down on a Rosburg road and blocking the westbound lane. 10:13 p.m. A caller from Skamokawa Vista Park reported that campers had left without paying. 3:57 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a fraudulent phone call. 5:57 p.m. A caller reported seeing smoke in the Skamokawa area; it was located, and the fire had been extinguished.
