The Wahkiakum Mule boys earned a trip to regionals this past weekend as they grinded the Pacific League’s #1 seeded Raymond Seagulls to a pulp, winning 82-53 Saturday night at Centralia High School.

The Wahkiakum Lady Mules trip to the SW 2B District basketball tournament came to an end February 15 with a 57-53 loss to South Bend.

The Wahkiakum Mule boys basketball team has advanced to the district tournament semifinals, while the Lady Mules and Naselle Comets and Comettes are facing loser-out games in the consolation bracket.

The Mules picked up a pair of 63-48 victories over Pacific League foes Willapa Valley and South Bend in the first and second rounds of district play.

With a solid goal in mind, the Wahkiakum Mule wrestling team entered the regional wrestling tournament last Saturday at Chief Leschi in Tacoma. Bringing 12 wrestlers into the tournament, the Mules had one of the larger teams in attendance.
