Two Islands Farm Market to open May 2
Two Islands Farm market will begin their 2008 season on May 2 at Stockhouse's Farm on Puget Island.
Market hours have been extended; it will now be open 3-7 p.m. on Fridays through to the end of October. Fresh Wahkiakum grown vegetables, flowers, veggie starts, perennial landscape plants, artisan breads, art, eggs and meats by the cut will be available.
Vendors for the opening day will include Crippen Creek Farm, The Farm at 172, Little Island Farm, Elk Ridge Farm, Twin Gables B&B, Greyfields, The Farm at the End of the Island, and Island Landscaping.
Cooking demonstrations will be held by Wahkiakum County Health and Human Services and the WSU Extension. The Wahkiakum Master Gardeners will also be on hand with advice and members of the Wahkiakum Acoustic Guitar society often provide music.
The Two Islands Farm Market booth will accept Senior Farmers Market Checks and Food Stamp EBT cards this season.
The trolley "Wahkiakum" will make hourly runs from the Elochoman Marina at 3, 4, and 5 p.m. weather permitting throughout market season.
