Classes aim to help those living with diabetes
Wahkiakum County Health & Human Services and WSU Extension are offering a free program targeted to people living with diabetes.
The program is part of a research project conducted by Joslin Diabetes Center which is affiliated with Harvard Medical School and the world’s largest diabetes research center and provider of diabetes education. Washington State University is also part of the research project.
The Wahkiakum County program will include:
• Two of the important tests that tell how well diabetes care is working.
• Information about five critical tests for diabetes care.
• Four classes on Living Well with Diabetes.
• Tests repeated after three months.
The program is free to all Wahkiakum County residents with diabetes and their families, however, only those with a diagnosis of diabetes are eligible for testing.
