Power line stolen along SR 4
A section of copper wire was reported stolen from power lines on SR4, the Wahkiakum PUD and Wahkiakum Sheriff's office said Friday.
The downed wires were noticed by a PUD employee on his way to work. There were five spans of wire missing, said PUD Manager Dave Tramblie.
“As it turns out, there was one span that hadn’t gotten picked up, that got left, so they only got four spans of number two copper,” Tramblie said. That equates to about 1500 feet.
Local recycling centers have been contacted, but nothing has been turned in. The sheriff’s office reports that a red and white truck was seen in the area Thursday evening.
