New offerings

from local merchants

As autumn slowly creeps in the local merchants of Cathlamet are shaking things up with a number of new offerings.

Sharon’s Pizza & More has added wild Albacore tuna as well as two new tasty sandwiches, the Chipotle Cowboy and the Italian Meat Combo.

Down on Main Street Sugar Lilies will be offering new lunch specials every Wednesday and Thursday including home made soup, chicken and beef pot pies.

On your next visit pick up their new reward card and with five lunches purchased, your sixth lunch is free. New flower and/or candy centerpieces and party trays are also available with delivery throughout Wahkiakum county.

Local T-shirt printing firm J&L Ventures is now selling personalized coffee mugs and is working with Sugar Lilies to sell gourmet dog biscuits.

Located on Puget Island, Sargasso Sea Antiques & Junque is closing at the end of the month. All stock is reduced and open to negotiation so stop in Wednesday through Sunday between noon and 5 p.m. before October 31 for your chance to pick up a bargain.

This week, the Tsuga Gallery will be hosting a Backroom Sale on Friday and Saturday with local artists cleaning out their studios and offering original works. Frames, paints, brushes and other art supplies will be on offer. Please note that the gallery will be closed on Sundays until further notice.

Cathlamet resident Genie Cary has been hard at work creating Wahkiakum themed coaster sets and is now branching out with kiosk signs for the new Port 1 welcome board. Having worked with Sugar Lilies and local artist Carol Peacock, Genie’s goal is to provide a tailored service for those wanting to boost their brand or capture a favorite memory.

Last month marked the closure of the Shell station but don’t fear as Cathlamet Video, the Cutting Edge Salon and Moore Auto and Marine are still open for business. As we all know, in this difficult economy, shopping locally is more important than ever.
