Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

January 27 –9:44 a.m. A caller reported finding a piece of a floating dock. 2:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Puget Island residence to aid a woman who had fallen. 2:33 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a Puget Island residence to assist with a lift. 7:24 p.m. A deputy secured an office after a door was found open; a responsible party was notified. 7:34 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who had fallen. 7:56 p.m. A caller reported fraudulent activity involving a bank account.

January 28 – 9:55 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported a stolen vehicle. 10:20 a.m. A caller from the high school reported drug activity. 2:28 p.m. A caller was concerned about a family member in the Elochoman Valley and requested a welfare check; contact was made and all was well. 4:51 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the clinic to transport an infant in respiratory distress to the hospital. 11:04 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to a chimney fire in the Elochoman Valley. 11:38 p.m. A caller reported an eastbound vehicle was speeding and weaving all over SR 4 in the Alger Creek area.

January 29 – 9:52 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident. 9:55 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the middle school to assist someone who was having chest pain. 10:01 a.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on a Cathlamet street. 2:51 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a missing dog.

January 30 – 6:07 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who was in pain. 10:42 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who had fallen. 11:36 a.m. A Deep River resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked in a dangerous spot; the owner of the vehicle was contacted. 1:30 p.m. A caller reported that people were loading cedar from his property into their vehicle. 2:06 p.m. A caller reported that someone had taken cash from her purse. 3:09 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to a Rosedale residence to assist with a lift. 6:51 p.m. A caller reported that a large dog had attacked her car in the Rosedale area. 8:56 p.m. A caller reported an aggressive driver heading westbound on SR 4 near County Line Park. 11:18 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a family member; the party was contacted and all was well.

January 31 – 7:26 a.m. An injured bull elk walking on SR 4 west of Skamokawa caused a slowdown in traffic; the Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified and responded. 8:12 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle drove through two stop paddles in front of the school. 10:36 a.m. A caller reported a deer with a broken leg on the side of the road on Puget Island. 11:08 a.m. A Rosburg resident who was concerned about trespassers reported an unknown empty vehicle parked on the road near his home. 4:12 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported an infant with breathing problems and the flu to the Life Flight landing. 11:19 p.m. A Deep River resident reported that someone was driving up and down the road repeatedly honking the horn.

February 1 – 12:22 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a car that had been seen on their property was now driving around the area with the lights off. 9:09 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident with abdominal pain. 1:50 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that they had found a large dog.

February 2 – 2:06 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that the power had gone out; the PUD was notified. 7:06 p.m. A caller reported that a driver in the Cathlamet area appeared to be intoxicated.

February 3 – 12:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet residence to aid a main with chest pain. 7:03 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Rosedale resident who was disoriented and bleeding; the family was notified by the sheriff’s office.
