To The Eagle:

Here are some facts about drinking and driving for teenagers and adults to think about before you make the choice to drink and drive.

·The average blood alcohol content or concentration (BAC) among fatally injured drinking drivers is .16;

·The relative risk of death for drivers in single-vehicle crashes with a high BAC is 385 times that of a zero-BAC driver and for male drivers this risk is 707 times that of a sober driver, according to estimates by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

·High BAC drivers tend to be male, aged 25-35, and have a history of DWI convictions and polydrug abuse.

My name is Stephanie Moonen, and I am a senior at Wahkiakum High School. My senior project is on May 9. I am hosting an all-day event with the high school. Naselle High School will be there for half the day as well. I have been partnering with Lisa Frink, Stephanie Leitz and Marke Hake. They have been helping me plan this day to help kids understand the importance of what drinking and driving can do and how it can affect you.
