Candidate for Congress coming to Cathlamet

Michael Delavar, Republican candidate for Washington’s Third Congressional District, will come to Cathlamet next week for a “Meet and Greet the Candidate” event.

On May 14, 6:30 p.m., Delavar will host a town hall meeting at the Puget Island Fire Hall, 475 SR 409, Puget Island, Cathlamet. The public is invited.

Delavar is running for Congress as a Republican against incumbent Jamie Herrera Beutler.

“I am shocked at how she has violated her oath to support the U.S. Constitution, not to mention the violations of her campaign promises," in a campaign press release. " This public meeting will focus on a few of the key issues where Herrera Beutler has let down the people, and what I would have done differently.”

Delavar’s principal criteria for an affirmative vote on a bill are 1) it must be Constitutional; 2) it must protect life, liberty, and property; 3) it must be affordable.

During the meeting, Delaver will discuss issues such as health care, the IRS, the budget, the national debt, Benghazi, NSA spying and the 16th and 17th Amendments.

Light refreshments will be served.

Delavar ran for U.S. Congress in 2008 and lost to five-term incumbent Democrat Brian Baird in the general election.

Delavar is a pilot for Horizon Airlines. He lives with his wife and two children in Washougal. He can be reached at Elect@MichaelDelavar.com. His campaign website is http://www.michaeldelavar.com.
