Bring the family and enjoy the annual Legion Pancake and Egg Breakfast this Saturday at the American Legion Post in Deep River from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. They will serve eggs to order, pancakes, kielbasa and ham along with coffee, orange juice and milk. Where else can you get an “all you can eat” breakfast for only $5?

The American Legion is and always has been an important group in our community. They do so much for our youth, our vets and our community members. This breakfast helps fund these activities as well as maintaining the upkeep of the post itself. Let’s make this the most profitable one ever for them. You can’t go wrong and it’s for a great cause.

Thanks to all the generous donors who donate the beautiful plants for the plant sale, and to all the folks who bought some wonderful plants. The soup luncheon was a huge success and I would like to thank everyone who participated, by enjoying a delicious meal and by helping out with our latest fundraiser.

The Rosburg Wednesday Senior Lunch Bunch meets each week at the Rosburg Hall for a wonderful home cooked meal prepared and served by Pat Potter and her volunteer crew. On the menu for the coming week is: baked cod, baked potato cubes, veggies, hot rolls and dessert; On June 4: tuna and egg salad sandwiches, cole slaw, pork and beans, chips and dessert. Lunch is served at noon.

On Thursdays a senior meal is also served at the above location and is sponsored by CAP. These two venues are a great place to meet new folks, enjoy some social time with friends and neighbors, and get a healthy and nutritious meal.

Happy Birthday to the following: Carol Penttila, Dan Zimmerman, Robin Kent, Alex Bighill, Elizabeth Dalton, Alexander Stenvall, Debbie Lopez, Marc Gacke, Linda Cary, Cherilyn Phipps, Manuel Lopez, Darian Jacot, Makenna Busse, Darrylin Eastham, Katie Ashe, Clyde Sprague, Joyce Rangila, George Vernon, Adam Jordan, Toni Smith and Doug Wirkkala. It has been quite a week, but my husband is finally home and on the road to recovery again. He is doing much better. Thanks for all the support and prayers; I’m sure it all helped.
